The Preparatory Program is a unique training opportunity for junior female students (aged 9-12) who have zero to under one year of experience on pointe. Preparatory Program dancers will benefit from the detailed European curriculum and pointe progressions. Classes are designed to maximize each dancer’s application of the technique and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
ABOUT THE FACULTY
Under the direction of ICSB’s faculty-in-residence Kathryn M. Robbins, former director of VJPD Ballet and consecutive YAGP teacher & school prize winner, students of this program will receive a wealth of knowledge from an experienced faculty with a proven track record of producing exceptional dancers. A renowned specialist in foundational pointe training for young dancers, Ms. Robbins has produced a decorated list of Pre-Competitive & Junior YAGP, IBC, WBC, and Prix de Lausanne prize winners. Young dancers attending the Preparatory Intensive will benefit from detailed curriculum and pointe progressions that are designed to maximize their application of technique.
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
In conjunction with a diverse selection of European classical & character syllabi, the dancers will be taken through a dedicated 2-week introductory series to pointe, that is designed to produce clarity of footwork and correct muscle patterning. Through a logical and detailed approach, pointe fundamentals are evaluated and broken down for increased strengthening & stability.

To sign up for the Preparatory Program Free Trail Class, students may sign up for either date or both! To be eligible, your dancer must be ages 9 to 11 and availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register your dancer, click on the button below and complete the online e-form below:
